Made on Dena’ina homelands.
This piece is about that feeling of living in Anchorage while your heart is still back home. A lot of us from the North Slope know what that’s like — that’s diaspora in a simple way: being away from where you come from, but carrying it with you every day.
I wanted this painting to feel like standing strong in the “big city,” holding on to who you are, and protecting the parts of home that live inside you.
I hope when you look at it, you can imagine your own story in that moment — whatever “holding home” means to you.

Each piece from Sacred Layers by Aviuk is created and fulfilled with care. Because every print is made to order, all sales are final.
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact me within 7 days of delivery at oyagak@hotmail.com with photos of the issue. I’ll make it right by sending a replacement or issuing a refund as appropriate.
Shipping costs are non-refundable. Returns are not accepted for change of mind, as each print is custom produced at the time of your order.

All orders are fulfilled and shipped directly by me from Anchorage, Alaska. Each print is carefully inspected, signed, and packaged to ensure it arrives safely and in perfect condition.
Packing:
Prints are sealed in protective sleeves with backing boards and shipped flat in rigid mailers and larger rolled canvases are shipped in heavy-duty mailing tubes for safe travel.
Shipping Method: All orders include free shipping within the U.S. via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground, with tracking provided.
Turnaround Time: Please allow 2–3 weeks for printing, packaging, and delivery. Each order is fulfilled by hand and shipped as soon as it’s ready.
